How many fans off one lead

Thread Starter
I have the Antec 900 with a corsair 520. How many 120's can I run off one cord? What's the best way to cover extra leads (the ends)? electrical tape?

Thanks
Mike

That is not a question we can really answer.
Fans don't take THAT much power, but it is pretty much trial and error.

One lead should pull about 120w, so about 60-120 fans for your average fan. 10 fans for the absolute high end.

Hi.

What PSU are you using?

You could do the math on the amperage to see what the draw would be like.

Frankly, if you want to run 2-3 fans on a line that would be just fine. I have done that and have not had problems.

The cleansest way to insulate and cover barred leads (other than plugs and caps) is to clip them flush and use a 1/4" piece of heat-shrink on the tip so that 1/8" is protruding off the end of the unused lead.

Dedicate one 4 pin molex for all your fans. Trust me, you can run as many fans as you want for the most part, unless you're being rediculous w/ the fan choice
