Wow so u r getting 3.6 with 1.35v vcore i didnt think that was possible from the things i have read on other boards.

I get 3.74 running at 1.4 Vcore. It very much depends on your cpu stepping. Some require more vcore than others to hit similar overclocks. The best numbers for an E6600 is 9x400. The highest multi's benefit the chips on the 680i architecture better than lower FSB higher multi. Also, going higher multi lower fsb actually reduces the required vcore for stability.

I can run at 280 FSB (3.920 with 14x Multi) but I have to increase the Vcore to 1.58 and temps are too high. Once I get my thermalright ultra 120 extreme installed, I'll have another go.
were these settings for your X6800 i take it just confused me a little coz its a e6600 thread.

thanks!!!

With your chip, I would start vcore at 1.4, set ram to unlinked, cpu vtt to 1.55. Stay at 9x multi and start at 350 FSB. Work way up in 10mhz increments.

1.2VHT to 1.35
NB voltage to 1.4 (may have to raise this to 1.45)
SB voltage at 1.5 (no higher)

Make certain your ram voltage is manually set to 2.1V even if its not overclocked (which it shouldn't be at this point)

If its not stable keep increasing vcore up to a max of 1.45 (you can increase it higher but watch your temps). I've taken my vcore up to 1.55 but temps are insane on air at that point.

Yes, although I used similar settings with an E6700 (except 10x multi and 360 FSB)

I would shoot for 3.6 on air. Anything more than that is really pushing (although I've seen higher). I would keep max load temps in the mid 50's.

Any ideas, no point putting my vcore up to 1.5 but it really doesnt wanna work on those settings, strange coz when i run at 3.5 ghz its perfectly stable and cpu idle temp is only 34 degrees C, maybe my chip just wont do 3.6 allthough i find it hard to beleive coz im getting 3.5 and the processor aint even sweating.
