Vista Partition with RAID

Thread Starter
I have a RAID 0 array with XP as my operating system. I recently got Vista and I want to be able to dual boot XP and Vista. I had 2 partitions with just XP, one for the OS and the other for everything else. I made a 3rd partition to put Vista on, I installed Vista on it, and after all the files were installed I ended up getting a BSOD. The stop error was 0x0000007b, which I found out had something to do with driver problems. Do I need to install RAID drivers again for Vista? or is there another problem. Thanks for in advance for any help.

Do I have to find Vista RAID drivers or can I just install the same ones I did for the XP install. I found some kind of Vista RAID driver but I still got a BSOD once the install was finished.

Not sure if this will help or not but when i installed vista yesterday on my standalone raid-0 arrary (no other os on it). I of course didnt have raid drivers for vista since there are few drivers for vista anyway, so tryed anyway and once i got to the install portion it showed the raid-0 drive as a single 233gb chunk the same data amount when i made the arrary off the controler before booting off the install disk.

Point of the story is try and go on with the install without drivers, worked for me might for you. The inital difference betwen xp and vista that i see is xp NEEDS drivers to see a scsi/raid drives or arrary but vista doesnt.

You don't require drivers for RAID in Vista, make sure you have installed your Vista Chipset drivers...i'm sure you have.

Or it could be a problem with the bootmenu

Problem solved. I had to download the RAID Vista drivers from DFI's website. I would have done this earlier but their site is terribly slow. I also heard that you didn't need RAID drivers for Vista. Thanks for all the guidance guys.
