I agree.. get the elite if you can . . . I believe it has HDMI as well . .

tough the PS3'a BlueRay drive makes it a tough sell for me.

No one answered the OP's wireless question haha. Yes, the 60GB PS3 (the only one you can get) has a built-in WiFi adapter. It's 802.11 b/g, as in faster than you need, as long as you have a g-standard router. The separately-purchased WiFi adapter for the 360 is about $50, I believe; the retail price is much higher.

There's also the fact that online gaming on PS3 is free, while Xbox Live requires a subscription, obviously. If you don't plan on doing much online gaming, then it doesn't matter, but seeing your wireless question and the games lineup you've got, it looks like you really want to play online. If so, you're going to be paying $50 a year for Xbox Live service if you want to game online. So, the price difference in your case is not the whole $200.

From what I can see, the decision for you is a battle of games. You've got the money to buy whichever console you want, and it looks like you've got a TV with HDMI. The features on the PS3 are better (WiFi, card reader), but they don't matter unless you're planning on using them. Games are opinion-based, so there it's up to you.

You should consider Gran Turismo 5 (as opposed to Forza 2). It really does look incredible - there was a comparison between real cars and GT5...I couldn't really tell the difference. Seriously, I'm really excited about GT5. You should also add Ratchet & Clank to your PS3 list. Vulcan covered FFXIII.

In the whole "games comparison" bit...well a Rockstar developer of some sort basically said that the lack of a hard drive in every 360, along with the small amount of space in the ones that do, is limiting what they can do with Grand Theft Auto IV. He also cited the disc size differences (9GB vs 25/50GB) have an effect on the game. GTAIV will be the first real comparison between the consoles, I'm sure.

GOW isnt that fun IMO. Also xbox makes you pay for online. But fight night round 3 looks amazing on the 360. The 360 also has a lot of fun games like condemned and COD2 (3 sucks on 360) . The PS3 might have a nice future but right now I dont see anything too great. I think the 360 elite would be a good choice if you want the extra HDD space.

I guess the conclusion we can all agree on is that if you want the best and you want it right now, go with an Elite. If you want to be part of what could very well be a huge changing of the tides in the now current-gen console war, you might consider a PS3. With the added price of online play, the total amount of money you're spending is going to even up a little, methinks.

Off topic: Fight Night Round 3 looks pretty damn good on PS3. Go to IGN and compare the screenshots.

NBA Live 08

then we will truly be able to compare the two, the same game, both 1080p with the 360 Elite or Ultra or whatever.
omg... the graphics are simply incredible...
i have tried all the new consoles on my big screen tv... the wii, the 360 and the ps3 and personally, i preferred the 360 because it is cheaper than the ps3... but if u can afford to get the ps3, then by all means get it because its the best one out there
It sucks I know

also to add the format wars are leaning toward BR atm . . . $600 is still a steal for a BlueRay player. . . the HD addon is OK but i personally am leaning toward BR as I think it has more potential.

so if its going on a large monitor or TV this a decent sound system go PS3.

imo buy a 360 now, and a year from now buy the PS3, this way you get the great 360 games now, and the great PS3 games when they finally come out, this fall the Xbox 360 game lineup is AMAZING, and then the mid-late 2008 PS3 line up is gonna be really good, so for now i'd have the 360, more fun with it, my plan is the same, eventually get a PS3

I like the PS3 simply because I already had hundreds of PS1 and PS2 titles that I am still able to play. Wi-Fi is definately a plus. BR DVD is also a plus. Bluetooth(wireless, rechargable through USB outputs) controllers another plus. Free online play, BIG plus!
