you can get the ps3 and have all the same accesories for the same price since ps3 includes most except hdmi cables....

Depends on if you want a more variety of games(ps3) or more hardcore games(xbox). PS3 does have wireless. Bigger backing. Blu Ray. Bigger hdd(except elite which costs more than a ps3 with all the same options...) PS1/PS2 compatibility. PSP connectivity. Linux.

also Saints Row 2 is coming to PS3 so you can forget SR 1 for 360 as well as just wait til next year for Gran Turismo 5.

Also, If you get the Elite, you will have 1080p just like the PS3!

oh yeah, the elite is a good choice, but only if u plan on putting a lot of data on ur HDD (music, other data that can't be mentioned, etc.), or have/plan on getting an HDTV, if either of those don't apply to you, get the 400$ xbox 360

am I going to save money if I plan on mainly playing online?

The game of all games Im waiting for is on both... "assassins creed"

I hate to say it but Im actually leaning towards a PS3 right now. Looks like the HDMI cable it doesnt come with is a standard one which I already have a nice spare monster one laying around.

The free online play sounds great, I had an xbox and not a ps2, I loved my original xbox (especially cuz I modded it) but I always wanted a ps2, seemed to have more/better games.

Such a hard decision, your right more pics. Im going hunting too

Yes, the cable you will need to hook it up is a standard HDMI cable. As an owner of all three of the "next gen" systems I'll go ahead and put in my 2cp. First of all, the wii was a great system, I have 5 games and have beaten them all, however, because of the complete lack of new games... it has been sitting idle for 3 months...

The 360 is a great system, with amazing graphics... gears of war made me upgrade my TV! I also love x-box live and all the down loadable content (demos, television shows, movie rentals, etc). The fact of the matter about the 360 though is this, if you are going to get one, get the Elite, as the paltry 20gig HDD they give you on the premium fills up very quickly. Taking into account that the current MSRP is $499. (I think). Add the wireless adaptor which retails at $99, and suddenly, your at the price of a PS3, but you still have no ability to play HD-DVD's... that will cost another $200 USD. I love my XBox 360, and the few games I have for it are great, but in all honestly I do not consider to be any more of a "value" purchase then the PS3.

Now then, the PS3, my favorite of all 3, is my favorite for one reason. Blue Ray. After watching blue ray on my television I can say without hesitation that I would have payed $600 USD for a blue ray player alone. Planet Earth on blue ray, hooked up through my Onkyo 7.1 HT is amazing, as are any of the movies I watch. Of course, the video games don't disappoint either. Motor Storm looks and plays amazingly (though whats up with no 2 player mode...) and COD3 is alot of fun also (though it still would have been better on the PC!). The online service through the PS3 is at the moment anemic, sure there is a demo here and there (of which the only one worth getting imo is the Gran Turismo HD demo (WOW!!!!)) but other then that... well, theres not much there. But still, the fact that the PS3 is Blue Ray ready (and wireless ready) out of the box, can fold, offers browser functionality (which the 360 does not), and last but not least plays video games... I think its the best choice.

Rest assured, either way you will be happy, there is really no "wrong" choice! You will be amazed either way you go. Good luck with your decision, hope I have helped out a little!
you know either way, if you are happy in the end it doesn't matter. PS3 is alot better for the money and will last alot longer than the 360(just look at the ps2 still outselling both....) The only reason to goto the 360 is a bigger selection of good games at the present, but in a few months the ps3 will be getting 1-2 good games a month and then next year will be the year of Slaughtering the 360...

It's not that hard of a decision, XBOX 360 is cheaper, its established and has more games out, HALO 3 / Gears Of War (those 2 games alone make people go out and buy an xbox 360) Guitar Hero 2 came out for xbox 360 not for PS3, a lot of the big supposedly PS3 only game are now being released onto XBOX 360 since the PS3 is getting a lot of negative feedback. You can always get the HD-DVD addon for 1080p video if your lcd gets 1080p, you can get a sick bundle xbox 360 bundle on ebay for an amazing price. The PS3 is marketed towards people who are not into computers or do not own one because the PS3 is being marketed as a computer gaming system, in Europe they even advertise it as "Blue ray player - AND IT ALSO PLAYS GAMES" LOL, take it frmo me I have had a PS3, WII, and XBOX 360 and I am the same way as you I have always enjoyed PC gaming much much more and rarely play any of my systems, but the one I play the most is my XBOX 360.
