Yes, the cable you will need to hook it up is a standard HDMI cable. As an owner of all three of the "next gen" systems I'll go ahead and put in my 2cp. First of all, the wii was a great system, I have 5 games and have beaten them all, however, because of the complete lack of new games... it has been sitting idle for 3 months...
The 360 is a great system, with amazing graphics... gears of war made me upgrade my TV! I also love x-box live and all the down loadable content (demos, television shows, movie rentals, etc). The fact of the matter about the 360 though is this, if you are going to get one, get the Elite, as the paltry 20gig HDD they give you on the premium fills up very quickly. Taking into account that the current MSRP is $499. (I think). Add the wireless adaptor which retails at $99, and suddenly, your at the price of a PS3, but you still have no ability to play HD-DVD's... that will cost another $200 USD. I love my XBox 360, and the few games I have for it are great, but in all honestly I do not consider to be any more of a "value" purchase then the PS3.
Now then, the PS3, my favorite of all 3, is my favorite for one reason. Blue Ray. After watching blue ray on my television I can say without hesitation that I would have payed $600 USD for a blue ray player alone. Planet Earth on blue ray, hooked up through my Onkyo 7.1 HT is amazing, as are any of the movies I watch. Of course, the video games don't disappoint either. Motor Storm looks and plays amazingly (though whats up with no 2 player mode...) and COD3 is alot of fun also (though it still would have been better on the PC!). The online service through the PS3 is at the moment anemic, sure there is a demo here and there (of which the only one worth getting imo is the Gran Turismo HD demo (WOW!!!!)) but other then that... well, theres not much there. But still, the fact that the PS3 is Blue Ray ready (and wireless ready) out of the box, can fold, offers browser functionality (which the 360 does not), and last but not least plays video games... I think its the best choice.
Rest assured, either way you will be happy, there is really no "wrong" choice! You will be amazed either way you go. Good luck with your decision, hope I have helped out a little!
