DDR Dual Channel?

Thread Starter
Up until just a day or two ago my motherboard would report the memory as running in DDR Dual Channel mode in the bios boot up.

Now for some reason it doesn't even though I haven't touched the RAM settings.

Any reason why?

Is there any software under Windows that I can use to check to see if the memory is running in Dual Channel mode?

Thanks.

get CPU-Z 1.40, in RAM info, it should say Dual or Single

EDIT: get it from http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

Use CPU-Z to check.

Have you touched any settings or overclocked?

Well, CPU-Z reports Dual Channel but I don't understand why the BIOS has stopped reporting it.

I've not flashed the latest BIOS since it doesn't allow you to change the CPU multiplier. The only features in the new BIOS not in the old are USB DOS support and C2D E6320 support.

hmmm well it's up to you. But the latest one could fix the little problem. There's no other way for it, just igrone the little bug or update it. Nothing much we can do about it, sorry.

Ok before this drops off the page. Ive got 2x 1gb sticks of PC2-5300 Geil. In CPU-Z it shows them running in Single channel. One seems to be running at 333MHz and the other at 266MHz.

Can anyone tell me whats going here and how to sort it so as to run in Dual at the same speed?

Thanks
Nick

You may need to move them around in the slots for them to be in Dual Channel. Most mobos are AB AB, but some are AA BB.
