Thread Starter
I have Vista, want to dual boot xp, have xp disk, only one partition.

so what do I do, I know I have to make another Partition, I have 80GB free on my main disk, I want to allocate like 40, I tired using windows to shrink the existing partition, but it said I only can shrink it 3GB and thats not enough. IDK I have never done this, so could someone walk me through this?

you can try to use a program called paritition magic to make the other partition, but that cost some money, i know there are a few free programs that do that as well, cant think of there names at the moment tho

You can get Arcronis Disk Director Suite. It comes with its own bootloader. Also, within it, you can create new partition (as you'd need to). Pretty much it. It's a simple program, and pretty self explanitory. Go look up that program.
