Will the REAL CPU temperature please stand up?

Look at attached photo.
Notice TAT says core is cooler than ASUS supplied PC Probe II utility says for CPU temp....

Since MB is ASUS and app is ASUS made for my MB, am I wrong to think it's a bad idea to ignore it???

Help!

First off just ignore anything Speedfan says...TAT or CoreTemp read the same sensors so either of those are accurite.
Very nice!

Yup. TAT and CoreTemp will be 1~2C off and that's it.

TAT is made by Intel for the C2D(s).

TAT all the way.
Coretemp will give the same results anyway.

have you upgraded your bios to the latest version

i have used speedfan with all my builds that it worked with and never had a problem as long as your running a bios with a good temp readout since it gets its tempf rom the same place as the bios usually, in this case i guess i would trust tat and coretemp

Yeah, if Speedfan is providing the same temps, then by all means go for it, but if there's a dispute, definitely trust TAT or Coretemp.

Actually all the programs look fine, Coretemp and Tat measure the individual cores, while pc probe and speed fan only measure the cpu temp, not the cores, the sensor is in a different place. Just make sure the cores don't go over 60C and your fine

Thanks for all the replies, but no one actually answered the specific question about the ASUS program!

Looking at the far right of the screen, you'll see PC Probe II (supplied by ASUS) says that my CPU temp is 51C. I understand that TAT is from Intel, but PC Probe II is from ASUS and they make my motherboard...so, I apologize for all the eye candy in the screen shot (although I was hoping it would help answer any random questions), but what should I make from the 51C from PC Probe II (same reading/temp that speedfan has labeled "CPU")???

Incidentally, I'm really curious because when I get my BIOS vcore up to 1.5v, under load the cores only go to 53C, but this "cpu" temp goes to 103C!!!

Thanks.

Nothing, really. It measures the cpu temp which is no concern so long as your core temps are in check.
