Does this make sense?

Thread Starter
I just ordered from (Xotic PC) and just looking for second opinions on this mobile unit. Dx10 cards arn't available in the 9260 and the memory has to remain at or below 2048 to get the DDR2 800. This will be my "away from home" gaming computer, that I hope will do just about anything I want. Any suggestions out there? Am I jumping the starting gate and buying too soon? What r ur thoughts?

My SAGER is modular. I can upgrade the video module as long as it's volt compatible (i.e. wattage). See if SAGER plans on releasing a new module in the future and if it will be supported on the laptop you are buying.

Jumping the gun.. that's the new sager that uses desktop cpu's. The clevo (sager) machines in the past that ran a desktop cpu's were notoriously hot and often buggy. I've also seen knowledgable folks post that the psu is barely marginal to run just the cpu and both gpu's (add fans on full and a accessory, and it might get overwhelmed).

I'd wait until the first ones out get full reviews before buying into it. It's a heavy investment to gamble.

I'd also would question whether you can upgrade to DX10 in the future. The cards are MXM and replacable, but the chipset needed to support DX10 isn't. I don't know if the chipset on that rig is compatible with the upcoming gpu's, so you might ask... otherwise, you likely have the best gpu's you'll ever be able to run on that rig.

I'd go over to the notebookreview.com forum and troll around....
