No, it wont. Plus, it is too weak to run any of the upcoming DX10 titles with any respectable eye candy enabled. Total joke of a card.

Look up some benches.... the 8600GTS was lambasted and called a flop by several review sites for coming in under the 1950pro, if the GTS can't beat the 1950pro there is no way the GT can.

Also, we don't want your advice... go back to the Nvidia forum and stay there, and quit uselessly trolling ATI threads. Even though I think they are worthless pieces of junk, you don't see me trolling 8600GT and GTS threads in the Nvidia forum telling people not to buy them... do you?

I am waiting for updated drivers for a better 2900XT.

And no, ATI's products are not overpriced at all. Of course, the 8600GT would perform somewhat better than a 1950pro in some way, afterall, it is newer technology with DirectX10.

Yea there were some games that ran a slightly higher FPS than a stock ATI X1950 Pro in reviews I saw. However, he was referring to my setup, which is Crossfire. Also, I bought mine in November 06....way before the 88**s came out.
Most of the games favored the X1950 Pro by quite a large amount.

I have the card, and i promise the reviewers either used prerelease drivers or dont know how to test there cards, i get 5500 3dmark06 at stock with this thing on an X2 3800, can your 1950pro, also i can max out any game i want at 12x10 and get over 40FPS, can you? Ever seen FarCry 12x10 4xAA 8xAF with HDR 7 turned on and running at 60FPS because i have. The 8600GT is a beast and the 8600GTS more so, its the review sites that benched this card that got it wrong by using the prerelease drivers and not updating there reviews after the offical drivers came out.

Also explain to me how the 8600GT cant run DX10 titles with eye candy, please tell me this or are you quoting some fanboy handbook there? Every single DX10 game is being built around the G80, and the G84GTS is half of the card the 8800GTS

Awww that's cute...my setup runs 1920*1080 16X High Quality AF, 8X Quality Adaptive AA, all high settings on BF2142 without breaking a sweat. I haven't run Far Cry in a while because it's old, but I bet I can run it at 12X AA

For the price the 8600GT is a great card, but I wouldn't buy that to run any future DX10 games. I bet Crysis will strangle it under a decent res. It will run it, but probably not with some of the extras as the above poster said.
I would say grab another one and run SLI. That would put you around the performance of 1 GTS 640Mb, according to a review that I read on the MSI model (which has a pretty insane cooler)

Nvidia didnt have to launch Geforce2, the Geforce was untouchable as we all know, and no other competitor was close to beating it. But we got Geforce2, followed by Geforce3, ATI was always one step behind untill 9700pro, untill that point NVidia was always way out in front and had no reason to launch things like Geforce 2 or Geforce4, but they did.
Cant argue with someone who's clearly one sided. Go back to the Nvidiot forum, people don't always have to agree. If ATi "dies" I am not going to cry about it, but I am not so sure you would feel the same if Nvidia meets the same fate you would feel the same. Its just hardware, and whether you except it or not Nvidia releases products to compete, if they stopped they wouldn't be gpu makers would they. I would never say that the 8800 is a crappy card just cause of personal feelings cause I know its not. Both companies have their good and bad and whether you except it or not Nvidia wouldn't be the same without ATI looking over their shoulder.

I have no faith in all first gen DX10 cards. DX9 didn't really start to shine, and out surpass DX8 until the more powerful Nvidia 6 series, and ATI X*** series came out.

Hmmm, your now defending Nvidia for having poor released drivers and that everyone is basing it's performance on that, but yet your flaming ATI for the very same thing .

Built around? All upcoming DX10 games will also be DX9 also.

I totally agree. I'm not buying a DX10 card until next year probably. The only DX10 that I want to buy this year is Crysis..maybe there will be another. Until then my setup is running 1920*1080 like a champ.
