hi i dont have a monitor can i jus use my sylvanna 32inch hdtv as my default monitor??

Yes you could. IT wont look that good though unless you have new video card with HDMI

so as soon as i put my pc together i can jus connect the hd cables to the tv and it will work without setting it up?

Connecting the cables would be setting up.... lol. Ya, but im not sure what kind of cables you need.

you would also have to set the resolution

the common resolutions are 1280x720, 1360x768 and 1920x1080.

some gfx cards can be a bit fussy with the 1360 option, but other than that, it should look sweet. Mine does

Does your monitor have a VGA input. That would be the easiest way to hook it up as your monitor. You certainly do not need a HDMI cable to make it look good.

HDMI is the same thing as DVI, just with onboard audio. He could use either one and still get great quality.

i have a BFG 8800 gts 640mb version i jus ordered all these parts off new egg and was like wow everythings so cheap...i forgot to buy the freakin monitor!!!so is my tv comparable to a normal monitor with the dvi cables..i imagine there mus t be differences such as reponse time and contrast ratio???
