PICS! Best Value Gamer $1000 E6420/8800GTS Build

Looking for an OUTSTANDING, value minded gamer??? You've come to the right place!

I know everyone likes pics of new builds so I decided to take a few of a build I finished today for a client. The E6420 on stock voltages and stock cooling (ilde @ 31ºC,load @ 46ºC) easily increased to 2.8ghz. Sorry no exterior pics after it was all done. Not real fancy or flashy, but this thing, stock scored over 8g's on 3Dmark06.

Typical CoolerMaster Centurian 534 case(Abosolutely BEST value IMHO!!) Installed 120mm in front for 3-120mm total and you've got yourself a cool, quiet, and spacious Mid-Tower Case!!

Powering it all Corsair's 520W Modular PSU

Accepting the power and dispensing it throughout with great efficiency, AND after short OCing session achieved 375FSB easily on stock settings.
EVGA's got a winner with this excellent Non-SLI new-comer.
The EVGA 650i Ultra motherboard!!

Of course the horsepower under the hood could be no less than a Core 2 Duo. With 4mb of L2 Cache, this is the "Little CPU That CAN" At a price point of, well under $200, this processor has more kick than a mule with his genitals in a sling!

Nowadays it's fairly easy to find 2gigs of Ram for under $100, but to have the ability, under the lifetime warranty I might add, to easily handle 2.0 volts, AND OC a little bit (up to 900mhz on 2.0v/5.5.5.15) G.Skills got MAD skills with memory in this range!!

In order to keep cost to a minimum with the ability to run ANY game at decent settings for the next year or more, the EVGA 8800GTS 320MB foots the bill with absolute perfection!

Not that anyone cares, but Lite-On's SATA DVD-Rom and SATA DVD-RW make for great cable management with ease.

Thanks for taking the time to read this thread and I do hope that you enjoy the pics!!

BTW-I know that these components don't total a grand, but throw in Vista Premium and a WD 160gb HDD and you've got your totals!

at 2.0V and 5-5-5-15, they handle 450FSB! wow you changed my plans of getting the WIntec AmpX which can hit the same speed at 2.2V and extra cooling, same price for 2 gigs

You could have gone a little cheaper on the PSU, but heck... who can argue with that Corsair
