But first you must have DangerousHobo rid the MS that inhabits your body, through a MS exorcism...
It's kinda like a low level format for your mind O_O

i can feel the evil spirit in me as we speak...it drives me to its dark side.....only a small piece of me dares think about challenging it

Linux is definetely not the Dark Side If anything, it'd be like Darth Vador allowing you to go back to the "Light Side" (? ) ...
Yeah.. Speak to DangerousHobo or The_Jester. They know their stuff about Linux
Maybe you could try The_Jester's own version of Linux? Jestix? It's built for Overclockers.

What has gotten you curious about Linux? I'm just curious.
Well Linux a Unix-like operating system, meaning its file system layout is very close to that of Unix. Unlike Windows which is a complete Operating system, Linux is just a kernel. This is way if you start to google stuff on linux you'll start hearing stuff about Ubuntu, Fedora, Genoo, Slackware, etc. Those are all called distributions(distro for short). A distro is a complete operating system using the Linux kernel.
One distro that is pretty easy to use and popular is Ubuntu. I usually suggest it to some one interested in linux because its not to challenging to use compared to some others. But after you learn some and feel conferable with it, definitly try some others. My two favorite are Slackware and ArchLinux.

You get a distro its pretty easy. Just google for the distro and go to their site and they will have a link on their site to download it. It'll be in a .ISO file. After that is done downloading, just burn it to a cd or dvd(which ever is needed) as an image.(Look in my sig: Burning Linux to disc) Then just leave the cd in the drive, and reboot, booting the cd drive first. The cd then should boot you into the installer then. If you can make some spare space on you harddrive in windows then do that first, I think Ubuntu might do that for you now.

Make sure to back up you data first before the install. Incase anything bad were to happen.

You can get Knoppix or Ubuntu 7.04 and run them off the cd to see if you like it before you install. You can download them from the there sites. Some use torrents. You can also go to the Ubuntu website and order the cd. That's what I did. I'm running Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty with Beryl and it's bad a**. I'm still figuring out a lot of stuff. You can also dual boot for a while for the things that you still want to run on xp. Here is a screen shot of mine.
