Thread Starter
Well, Lately i been looking for upgrades for my computer. I'm lookin at more FPS in mostly all of my games. I don't know what video card to choose though because i see the 8600 GTS is the same as the 7900 GT performance wise. I pretty much want the most BANG for my Buck here =/

If your going for DX 10 go for the 8600 GTS. If your not planning to game in DX 10 I would reccommend the X1900 GT which is only 120 Bucks which performs sames as the 8600 GTS in DX 9 but the con of the X1900 GT is that its not DX 10 ready.

I advise to you to save your money and get the 8800 GTS 320 MB for a 100 dollar more. The performance between the 8600 GTS and the 8800 GTS 320 MB is noticeable.

im worried that soon, the 320mb version of the 8800GTS is going to be useless because some games require at least 512mb of vram to run on 'ultra' settings. as of right now, i would get the 8800GTS 640mb before its discontinued
