elo again

Thinking about selling my sig rig, firstly what you reckon il get for it ? ( Can put new 6600gt into aswell )

So... down to business.

What of this build ?

Views? Anything i should change ? Have i forgotten anything ?

2 gtx's worth it ? Im thinking for cyrsis. I am not interested in dx9 because i wont upgrade for atleast 2/3 years ( will it last that long ? )

Also if there is something bit more expensive/cheaper that has better warranty im all ears
Has to be from scan ( hate the company but i've got no choice so please dont show me different website's )

That looks like a really solid system, and dang RAM is getting so cheap nowadays! Ain't VAT a kick in the butt lol

But yes that looks like a pretty solid system. Although i would look into some cases a bit more, not sure what that case is like but you may be able to get a better one.

Check me out

Looks good Except:

PSU:http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=446787 This thing pumps out 50A on the 12! Its one of the Quad Core/ SLI GTX's PSUs

Case: Do your homework on this one, There are alot of better cases for that price out there (Antec 900 for example)

Otherwise looks good

Honestly a case can make the world of difference. But if you are like me, that difference isn't worth the £100+ price tag.

There are alot of cases that will get the job done, its just finding them.

Nice

Some minor quibbles:

I do not like Corsair Dominators, esp. not the cheaper ones like you got. I'd get RAM with D9's, like this G.Skill HZ kit:
G.Skill 2GB DDR2 HZ PC2-6400C4 (2x1GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit £93.99 inc VAT (actually even cheaper).

Given your PSU selection, I think you're not planning SLI. Why an SLI motherboard then? If SLI is in the future, get a beefier PSU and a 680i based motherboard. Otherwise, you might want to consider Intel's newest chipset:
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=590765

Hard drives with 8MB cache?? Ugh..
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=345219

The Seasonic is nice, but I'd take a look at these Silverstones. About the same price, but 750W and 60A on a single 12V rail. First one is fixed, second one modular:
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=565198
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=565199
The Corsair mentioned earlier is nice also, but 50A is pushing it for 8800GTX in SLI. Yes, it'll run it, but that PSU will be maxed.. and I like a little headroom.

im not really fussed about cost at the moment as il be paying it monthly ( the only way i can get a new rig and im bored of having no graphic power with this mx2 )

i cant get it off overclockers.co.uk Chozart unfortunately but thanks for the suggestion

point taken on the hard drives , will update it.

Between the corsair psu and the silverstone which would be better ?

I will go sli but im thinking of how much trouble vista is going to be is it worth it yet ?

Im honestly wayyy behind on vista at the moment.

mobo , p5ne and p5k , whats the difference apart from chipset ?

Ok, if you plan SLI, the P5K is out, since that's the newest Intel chipset.

The P5K is a crazy overclocker, based on first info. It's basically the successor of the P965 chipset.

For SLI with 8800GTX, this is the board you want:
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=505256

The one you picked runs SLI in x8, x8, and with the 8800's you WILL see the benefit of x16, x16 bandwidth.

And also, for SLI, I'd pick the Silverstone OP750 or DA750. Quality wise, they're similar, and the Silverstone is just more powerful. In Jonnyguru.com, the Silverstones are tier 2, while the Corsair is tier 3.
