Just got my computer running again after the graphics card crapped out. Was plugging in an old USB flash key, and the computer cut off. Now it won't even get the monitor to register. Am I boned?

Have you tried restarting with the USB key pulled out? . . . if that doesnt work try resetting the CMOS. (Pull batt out for 10 min or use the jumpers) . . I dont think its the video card if it happened when plugging in the usb drive. . . you may also want to disconnect the usp header from the mobe and try that (If using the front USB ports) . . . could be a short somewhere.

Almost sounds like what happened to me. My mobo just went bonkers Friday. Same symptoms. One PCI card slot died, one usb port stopped working, and the video card stopped functioning correctly.

I just sent my mobo in to be RMAed.

I know thats not what you wanted to hear. But You asked what it might be

Lets rule out possibility's

If you measure out your usb key you would know if it's shorting

Remove everything unneeded (HDD, Soundcard, NIC, CDROM, front USB)

See if that gets you anywhere
