about to throw my 6800 out the window - Page 4

this may explain why this only started happening recently: "Well, now's not a good time to be running the stress test; Since the last Steam patch, a bit of the textures are missing, which explains the RED "ERRORs" as you come down the elevator shaft." sorry

corruption just means something cant be read and displayed properly

it could be that the particular textures on those models are a bit too much for the card to handle with those settings

With the Purple checkerboard issue, it's less likely a driver issue and more of a Counter Strike Source issue.

Go into your SteamApps folder and ENTIRELY delete the coutner-strike source folder. When you open Steam, it'll still be in the list. Run it, and it will re-extract the entire game and rebuild it from the GCF archive files still on your machine - you won't have to re-download anything. Just make sure you backup any sprays you want to keep. I wouldn't worry about backing up maps, since they'll most likely have other resources that were installed along with them, which you won't know of. Saving the materials and sounds folder won't do you much good, either, since we're trying to start from a clean slate.

If that doesn't work, try reducing your OC and get new drivers. I'm using 71.25 with my 6800GT and they're the best I've used yet. The newest nVidia (71.84) and the Omega/Experiemtnal drivers can't match the 71.25 set, though I'm not sure if it'll work with other brands - I got it directly from eVGA's site, and can't find it on nVidia's.

the 60fps bug for cs 1.6 is caused by refresh rates being to low. Try it as high as it will go.
