LOTRO- worth $15/month?

Thread Starter
Ive never played any mmorpgs like WoW or any of those because the idea of spending $50 plus $15 a month on just a game always seemed kind of crazy to me. So many people seem to like them though, so I was starting to get curious about trying it out. Is there anyway to download a free trial or something before picking the game up?

Since you have such a nice rig, I don't think an MMORPG would justify your rig. Imagine what will happen if you get too addicted to LOTRO that when Crysis comes out, you won't want to play it!

Now if you just had an X1900XT or something like that, then it might be worth it.

Nobody thinks of it like that though. I just think of it like paying 15 bucks a month is nothing. I do not mind MMoRpg's because they are more fulfilling then fps's.

Im downloading the trial now, its a huge file though so it will be a few hours.

yea when you add it up, 230 is a lot of money to spend on one game... but it is over the course of a year. still that much for something that does nothing but waste time really...oh well when this finishes ill try it out.

LOTRO is better then wow IMHO.. but at level 35 or so It gets extremely boring, Its basically "look for a group for 2 hours, do 1 quest that gives you 5% of your level. Repeat."

I'd rather grind TBH. I got to level 35 in a couple days, being one of the highest on the server, and then I stopped playing (still subscribed though). People are already max level.
