Brightness and Contrast suggestions

Thread Starter
On my 17in Dell LCD, I was messing around with the settings, and found my contrast was 75% and brightness was 65%.

I just turned both to 100%, is this how it should be?
Will it affect the life of it severely?
Will it hurt my eyes considering I'm on the computer 12 hours a day?
Should I only turn up the brightness when gaming, and always keep contrast at 100%?
What settings do all of you use, and for what?

You should keep the brightness at 100%(or whatever looks right) and the contrast anywhere between 50 and 85%. You can burn out a moniter with too high contrast.

And LCD's aren't very bright, so no worry about it.
