Well it seems that everyone here is very happy to clock their scrap past 3.6GHz. Personally I think that is easy to achieve, and it has been on several C2D's that I have clocked. I have had 4 E-series and 1 Q-Series at or past 3.6 with no problem on different motherboards. All of them have been thermally limited to 4GHz and below.

So what is up with everyone else? Have I gotten 5 lucky chips?

check your RAM timings, if it's tight, make it more relaxing and u should hit 3.6 with little volt increase no problem

The any stepping past week 32 has had more and more problem reaching past 3.5Ghz.

If you're in the 40's? You almost can forget about it.

One of mine (If my memory serves me correctly) was an L46. Again, thermally limited.

Haven't had any probs with my E6400; benched it at 4.2ghz and run day to day at 3.6ghz.

So far so good. Solid.

Keeping it till it burns out.

I got stuck at 468 FSB maintaining 5-5-5-15 with my G.Skills that I paid $205 for in November. I guess 3.2GHz is where I'm going to run 24/7 because I'd either have to go for some better RAM or change CPU to something with a higher multi. Getting a quad core this summer seems likely so I'm not sweating it too much

Interesting observation though, I guess 3.2GHz is probably a number you see alot because of all the air coolers out there. Me? I wish I could see what I can out of my e6300 cause I've still got some room to go sitting at 51 degrees full load. Dang those red g.skills, oh well.

Dude.. READ THE POSTS BEFORE POSTING.. Second time in a hour i've seen you post with something like this. Hes saying that hes achieved the overclock and hes wondering why others havn't... He's not asking for overclocking advice.

Ugh.. im getting fustrated...

Anyway, I guess quads can't overclock near as well as dual cores. even though my stock speed is greater then yours, I cannot get mine pass 3.2ghz and stable. It takes way to much voltage. It kind of makes me mad that a E6600 is a better buy then a QX6700 until crysis or alan wake. lol
