Ugh.. im getting fustrated...

Anyway, I guess quads can't overclock near as well as dual cores. even though my stock speed is greater then yours, I cannot get mine pass 3.2ghz and stable. It takes way to much voltage. It kind of makes me mad that a E6600 is a better buy then a QX6700 until crysis or alan wake. lol
The E6600 will still be a better buy with Crysis, should be able to do MAX details with the right GPU(resolution dependant).

Quad Core is definately going to rule with Alan Wake, although when they demo'd it they had a Quad Overclocked by 1Ghz....which is slightly daunting.

3.6 was easy for me, but that's about the farthest I can push my ram. I keep mine clocked at 3.2 right now because I get insanely good temps and the vcore is really low.

I cant pass 3.4 because my rams are maxing out at 980mhz,if i had d9s i'm sure i'd hit 3.6 (e6300 40A)

My E6300 was easy to get to 3.49 but my current 6600 just wont do it... What can you do, it's all about your stepping.

So what is up with everyone else? Have I gotten 5 lucky chips?

3.2 is an interesting number for those on < E6600 because the multipliers come into play at that speed. which in turn gives you issues to consider with ram speed. and also FSB and NB speed

The north bridge on my ds3 was literally burning @ and above 3.15ghz,it was so bad that i wasnt able to hold my finger on it for more than 5 secs. Now i put a P4's 0.31A 7cm fan on it and its the coolest spot in my case lol.

I had over 3.8 on air!

My 6600 is a nice chip!

Can't get my e6600 >3.55ghz. I think I had a stable 3.55 once but tuned it down due to temps (before the tuniq) and haven't been able to reach it again.

It ocs to 3.4 fine, and i can even squeeze a 3.2 ghz on close to 1.26 vcore, but damn if I can't get it to 3.6.

a bit disappointing; but, taught me to research my hardware more before I buy (or what to look for, anyway)

because an extra 1GHz per core is really poor...

I see that losts of people here have quard cores.what is the point of spending all that money on 2more cores that you will only use like 10% of.I mean they havent even harnesed the ture power of even a low end dual core yet maney people are already moving on to the next big thing.I just seems like a big waste of money.and by the time they do get do makeing quads work like they should yours will be 10 years old a in a land fill some where.I think that its jut a way for intel and AMD to make for money istead of coming up with better single for dual core CPUs,they just stick more older ones to together.
