Firefight Lag

Thread Starter
My GeForce 7600GT has a bad habbit of stuttering when in firefights on games. The only game that runs well on it is call of duty 1. In call of duty united offensive and CSS my framerate drops dramaticly when involved in firefight or if i see an explosion. I have tried everything from reinstalling drivers, upgrading sound cards, cpu's and RAM. Nothing seems to work. i recently purchased a sound blaster audigy SE as i was told it may be a sound issue, But the problem persists. I am begging anyone out there to solve my problem. I can't game with this annoyance.

What are your temps, GPU and CPU. (On load)

Definitely sounds like something is overheating...

That seems fine.., Im not sure if this statement is correct but i'll say it anyway

You only have a 60GB hard drive, are you sure there is enough space, I wouldn't fill a hard drive over 85% or you start to loose performance.

It could be a ram issue I guess..

Its alot closer then I would ever go.. Im not sure if that would cause the performance problem though. I'd recommend getting a new hard drive in the near future though...

..If you got a new hard drive and reinstalled windows it would rule out the software issue and most likely fix it anyway. (Make sure you have the absolutely latest drivers. Not the ones from the CD.)

Im not sure what else would cause it.. Your computer should handle CS 1.6 and COD1 without any problems even on max..
