Hey CD,

Nice case y0. My question is kinda on and off topic, though. Will you do alterations to other cases? Say I wanted you to completely perforate the side panel of my Centurion 5 so that I could mount a few more fans to kick out the heat on a closed box, would you do a custom mod like that?

Actually I thought GonX was going to use that as his new avatar...

So far Naked is running very well--I installed Vista on the second RAID array for dual boot--which works well--XP is noticeably faster to me...but Vista installs SW faster

The SIlenx CPU Cooler is adequate--the CPU does not get past 47C at 100% load Folding--which is decent--the Filters are also working well--as we have a dog and a very active home dust is always a prob in the comps.

With the SIlenX running at middle speed and the 200mm on low the rig is very quiet indeed. I have it on a table right beside me and the loudest part of the rig is the chipset fans...40mm fans are piercing at 5400 RPM. I have them volted down in BIOS which helps--but with a passively cooled motherboard like the P5K that just arrived this afternoon I Think it would be an outstandingly quiet aircooled PC.

I like my AA8XE and have already started moving all my data onto he Naked 900. The P5K needs to go in something so I am thinking about Blue Dream being built up and put up for sale.

For Now Naked will go retro--I would really like to snag the X1950pro for the P5K and run Crossfire...but it looks so nice in Naked that I just can't....

No time today for modding I had to work on building my shop.

More soon!

Wow that was fast...now I will take the Ultra out--it was throwing boot errors--prolly due to low voltage on start up is my guess--this morning I had to reset the PC about ten times to fire up--so the PC Power 750 is right on time.

I know it is total overkill but at least I won't need to upgrade for a while

I have been thinking a lot about what I want out of this personal rig and I am more than halfway committed to the AA8XE due to it's phenomenal RAID controller. Although the bling factor of dual GFX cards is lacking and the CPU is considered obsolete I still like the way the board runs.

No doubt a lesser PSU would do...but as I am using this case to prototype parts for the ultimate WaterCooled case the vast amount of copped dangling off the Quad should make a good challenge for the acrylic cover plates I am working on right now.

The clone of the Naked 900 will feature a preinstalled and managed Quad 750, removable coverplates to hide the sides of the bays and the floor of the case, and acrylic face panel fitted for a conventional DVD drive and SunBeam Fancontroller with the option to water cool with a top mounted PA 160/Apogee GTX or D-Tek Fuzion/MCP655 or DB-1. Of course I will use SIlenX fans throughout Case lighting is another option. Custom Paint is still out of reach ATM--but shen I finally get set up and prove that I can do I will likely squirt a 900 in some Ferrari Red... We'll see about that.

So today I will install the Quad 750 and see what I can do about properly managing the cables without making any holes in the case--this is to come up with some system that would be easy for any new 900 owner to apply.

I have 2 more Antec 900 cases arriving and one will be molested into an LCC with a PA on top and the other will be transformed into a CLone of Naked.

Hopefully Antec will soon add the frames to their online shop and I will be able to offer the option of ready-to-ship Front Panel mods as shown on this thread.

I now have a pair of D-Tek FuZion CPU waterblocks and a pair of DB-1 pumps to try out...I already have the PA 160 rads and MCP 655 pumps so I am ready to move ahead!

After some thought I decided to put the new 750 in a barebone rig to sell and hauled out my trusty Zeus. Despite having a drawer of fine sheathing and heatshrink onhand I decided to go retro with some red split loom. The Cabling from the Zeus is extra long and the need for molex in this rig extra small so I used the loom to doubleback on the molex cables to "eliminate" some of the connectors and length. I used 3M rubber tape (no adhesive) to bind the ends of the loom. This system allows for redoing the wiring as I add devices such as lights if necessary and it is quick.

The Zeus provides 560 Watts continuous and is whisper quiet. I have used this same PSU in Velocitor and Crunch and it really improves stability at OverClock.

I usually fit the PSU so that the cable out is beside the mobo--but the loom is not that flexible so I flipped it upside down--which actually is okay and hides the stickers

You either hate split loom or accept it for what it is. I like using it when I am working out details with a non modular PSU because it is easy to rework--I would say 90% of what makes my mods satisfying to me is rework--little changes that add up to a final state of improvement.

Where the cabling exits the PSU is an eyesore no bout a doubt it--but I have a plan...

Of course the front hides nothing...

The rig fired up without the usual playing with reset buttons...a real joy. No surprise tough..as the Zeus is a powerhouse.

My wife thinks it looks like a police car...I may have to name this rig "Interceptor"

Bang Bang Bang "Freeze!"
