8600's... Worth it?

Thread Starter
So with the recent arrival of the 8600 I'm left wondering if it would be worth upgrading from my XFX 7600GT in SLI to a 8600. All I want to know is if those of you who have done the same thing are happy with the new cards, or should I wait for some sort of price drop.

I don't have an 8600 but I think unless youre using vista I would hold off until a price drop. From reviews it looks like 8600 GTS should keep up with your 7600s in sli. For the price of an 8600 you could probably pick up a 7950gt which would outperform the 8600. If you need the DX10 though the 8600 would be the better way to go.

The 8600GTS will out preform a 7950GT with the 158.22 drivers i promise because my 8600GT oc will almost keep up with a 1950XTX untill i crank the res above 12x10

the GT is a better buy and can oc like a bat out of hell, it can do 1ghz on good air or water with a volt mod for the core and 1800-2000mhz on the mem with a voltmod, close to 8600GTS cost for 50 less, and my 8600GT is fast as hell.

Not worth it unless you get an 8800GTS, now that would be a decent upgrade.

I wouldn't bother with the 8600 series. I would just save up for a bit longer and go with an 8800GTS 320MB.

Ya from what I can tell the 8800's would be best, especially after the 8900 comes out so you could get a price drop.
