Thread Starter
Meh.. i installed the extra 2GB (4GB total now) and went into BIOS, put everythign to stock, and OC'd from there.. but BIOS only says i got 3008MB of RAM (at stock, and/or overclocked) and it took hella long to start up my programs (3 times longer than w/ just 2GB) after i booted up. MEH WHAT DID I DO? ZOMG!

If you can find something that relates to mapping ALL your memory to above 4GB will fix it. Usually that will make all 4GB visible in Windows XP.

I'd geuss a bad stick and or improper settings. ididnt look at your specs but on 965p mobo's they default to outrageous timings and 1.8v; make sure they are set right. But, if it's telling you in the bios you only have 3GBs when u actully have 4 I'd geuss it's either a bad stick or perhaps it's not properly running in Dual-channel mode.

enable memory remapping

but if he's not using a 64 bit os he won't use but 3 gig and they recommend not installing more than 3 gig
