Release date is Dec. 3rd, 2007, just in time for the holidays.
December??? I honestly don't think I can wait that long. I mean, no good games have been rolling out since launch date. Are you guys still playing wii sports and zelda?? is taht really holding you over? I let my friend borrow my wii and it's been almost 2 months since I last saw it. I really wish they would work harder at getting good games out.

Actually, December 3rd is a lot earlier than I expected for its release (by a couple weeks). I am perfectly able to wait the time, which is something considering I got the Wii only for Brawl. Anyway, there's plenty of good games for the Wii if you bother to play them. I mean, I spent a week or two just playing Cooking Mama and it was fun (and now I'm playing Trauma Center, among my PS2/PC games). There's plenty of other games for other systems to tide one over if one must be playing video games all the time.

Also, I don't know who you're referring when you say "they". It's not just one company making games for the Wii and like I said, there's plenty of good games. A game doesn't have to be an incredible must-own game to be classified as good. I suppose I don't like that last sentence of yours. It just seems very....well, I won't say the word.

I actually projected it's release sometime in September, maybe late October at the latest, not that my projections were based on articles or anything, but it's what I would expect after x amount of days after launch. I think we're running on two different mindsets, so it's not easy to compare our situations. I see what you're trying to say, however at the same time, I don't see how your claim posed a valid argument.

Actually, December 3rd is a lot earlier than I expected for its release (by a couple weeks). I am perfectly able to wait the time, which is something considering I got the Wii only for Brawl.

Your ability to be patient and wait for Brawl's release Vs. my frustration that it's not being released soon enough isn't even "something" at all to be considering. You said you bought your Wii solely for Brawl, which means you jumped the gun and bought your Wii not knowing when Brawl would be released, but based on the fact that you heard from some source of media that Nintendo said it would eventually be released. So, it doesn't matter if it comes out in the next few months or is pushed back for another year; you purchased the system prematurely before knowing Brawl's actual release date, which signifies that you were willing to wait any given time period in the first place for it to come out, just so long as it does.

I havn't played all the games for Wii, but I've played a lot. I work at gamestop and I'm allowed to rent games there. Trama Center and Cooking Mama are good for a few hours to me, then I toss them aside because I'm doing the same crap as the DS version, just with a wiimote instead of a stylus. Innovation doesn't go THAT far, at least in my case. I also find them to be repetitive, and with such a high msrp tag, I don't see how a handful of hours with a less-than-average game can be worth half a ben franklin.

Zelda, Red Steel, and Super Paper Mario are titles that I've not once regret purchasing. Zelda could have sold for double the price and I wouldnt have cared; it was amazing and it will be burried with me in my grave. The crummy thing is, I've got everything there is to be had in that game, and although I can start a new adventure, I've beaten it already, so I don't even have to put out 10% to complete the game the second time. Red Steel was awesome despite it's controversial control issues (which I don't have a problem with), and I don't mind that I flew through the game in less than 9 hours, but plot twists are already spoiled, and multiplayer sucks big time. And as for Super Paper Mario, it's kinda like zelda, but only worth it's msrp price tag. I have some other good games like WarioWare, but it's only worth it's weight in gold if you have lots of people playing it. Otherwise, you're playing with yourself, literally.

When I say "they", I mean all developers making prospective games for the Wii, Nintendo or third party. You're right, a game doesnt have to be "must-own" to be entitled a good game. Yet if you look at it from a marketing standpoint: If a game is must-own, then it practically sells itself because whether supply is in large or low quantities, demand for that game won't change and will stay constant, hence "must have".

But the term "good" is very subjective, because technically for a game to be "good", the purchaser has to feel like that game is worth at least more than EQUAL to what he/she paid for it. If they felt like it was worth equal, that would techinically make a game average/mediocre, and if they felt like it was worth less, than the game would be "less than average" to "horrible" because they would feel that they paid more than what it was worth.

My last sentence was a personal claim because as of right now, not many games seem to be worth more than that steep $50 price margin to me. If you look up how many wii games have even gone over the 1 million mark margin, you'll only find 5: WiiPlay, WiiSport, Zelda, Red Steel, Rayman. There are a total of 277 games released/in development for the Wii; I think Nintendo and third party developers can do better. That's not to say that there aren't good games thrown into the mix of this whole mess. But at the end of the day, a game's worth is dependent on individual judgement, and the term itself is too subjective to properly define. But in my own eyes, I feel like developers can accomplish a lot more and that right now, most games aren't worth even close to their price tag.
