Hmm... I see your point now.

You're right; my "contributions" to this discussion were a little off the mark. The original discussion was about which principle is more effective. My comments were not really on point.

But, as you say, GPUs which exhaust air and PSUs also ought to figure into the equation.

That's why it's nice to get things as balanced as possible. But with cases like the Thermaltake Armor, there are vents on the top that can also exhaust hot air, so if you can make it so that there is more intake than exhaust it will be beneficial in my opinion. Regardless, without a fluid dynamics simulation with heat flow it would be difficult to determine what works and what doesn't.
