Best air cooler on the market. (And that's not a matter of opinion, it is better than the GeminII)

The Zalman is a good cooler, although it has a poor price/performance ratio. If you like it, go ahead and get it. Installation is also a lot easier compared to the bigger coolers.

OKay I finally got my Zalman cooler, I cant hear it at all even with the fan speed cranked up. Just one weird thing is I used the speedfan thing before and after installing it, and temps seemed to be cooler before I installed it. If Im all good then whats my first step to OC?

do you have the fan of the zalman on the right? If you put it on the left next to the exhaust fan then its working against the exhaust fan (the zalman fan blows air through the tunnel, doesn't pull air away from it)

On the note of the cooling part use AS5 for you compound and I use a Zalman 9500LED. My temps are 34c on idle. I have the same CPU you have, I have OC'd to 2.8. It could go higher but I like the temps just where they're at right now.

First of all, I have seen time and again that you should not use any type of os based application to overclock your cpu, it should only be safely done by changing bios settings.
I personally have it right now set at 2.64 Ghz. (240 x 11) With the vcore at 1.45v. This is with absolutely no other bios overclocks set. I do have my gpu overclocked, but I used nvidia coolbits to do that.
I was able to oc it slightly better (2.7Ghz) on my Asus a8n32-sli deluxe, but I'm happy with it now.

I used the Zalman Grease that came with it cause it was "supposed" to be good, but if the AS5 stuff is better Ill just pick up some of that. And yes, I followed the diagram so the fan is facing the right to the back of my case. Also as of now I do not have an exhaust fan on the back of the case, just in the front, top, somewhat dinky one on the side, and thats it. Im guessing I probably need to get a 120mm to go on the back. I tried the fan speed control knob and on the speedfan I see where it shows that the rpms go down, tho they only alternate between high and low speeds even with the knob in the mifflr, but the temps dont change. And Tang I would love to get my CPU to 2.8 ghz

I was reading the instructions for the Arctic Silver 5 stuff, and it says to just use a bead of it in the center of the CPU. Sounds like its not quite enough, any tips on putting that stuff on?
