Please help... issue with boot up...

Thread Starter
This message comes up right after the Intel loading screen and I have no idea what it is. Prior to going into BIOS and changing my hard drives to IDE, I would get the blue screen of death. When I go into BIOS, it recognizes that my hard drives installs. If ignored, it regularly boots up Windows and functions. I have no idea what this message means. Please help! Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like it is wanting to find a RAID array, lol. Is there any option to turn off onboard RAID controller on the mobo?

*goes to check the manual...*

I already tried. In BIOS, under drive configuration, I
Enabled Automatic Mode,
Set ATA/IDE Mode to <Native>
Configured SATA as <IDE> &
SMART <Enable>

This would disable RAID, no?

Okay, I might be able to help. Reading the manual PDF at the moment.

First off, which HDD is the OS on?

Try this out:

-Shut down computer.
-Disconnect the IDE completely, so we can take it out of the equation.
-Make sure the SATA is connected to sata "port 0"
-Go into BIOS--go to Advanced---drive config---config SATA, make sure RAID is not selected. Not sure what else you can choose, but something other than RAID.
-Then try to boot.

See if that helps.

Sorry for double post.

When you are in "Configuring SATA" select the option "SATA" and not "RAID" or "IDE". Nevermind, I don't think you have this option, only "IDE, RAID,& AHCI", am I right?

Also, go ahead and disable "automatic mode". Try that out.

EDIT: Under " Set ATA/IDE Mode", what are your options?

Okay, from what I can tell, you need to install this Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver (via device manager). Read the "Read Me" & "Release Notes" to help direct you, and give you a better idea of what it is enableing (it should enable the ability to use SATA). Apparently this board is a pain in the ass, most people say. Your sig says your running Vista, so that is where I linked you. Hope it helps.
