Now if someone would just design and market a good Shadowrun MMORPG....

i love MMOs. but i enjoy tedious/monotonous bits of them. i think i qualify as an MMO masochist.

examples:
EQ - hit high levels and spend a month to get halfway to a lvl (playing casually)
Runescape - is still mine/smith/craft to this day... i started 9 years ago (iirc)
PSO - mags, mags, mags, mags, mags. i <3 feeding them, i <3 raising them for different purposes, i <3 them completely. did i mention that it takes anywhere from 20-50 hours for each mag to lvl 200... i've made more than i care to count.
Ragnarok Online - leveling takes a fair amount of time (woo!) and each class can play out completely different ways (priest can heal, nuke(smite), or out hit a crit assassin for example. and those are the "simple" builds) i'd create and fiddle w/ new characters to test stats and builds.

PvP is okay in WoW. grind as it is, i couldn't seem to enjoy it when i played.
the character customizing does suck immensely. i liked the way my shaman looked w/ greens

Ya know, I never really realized it but everything they release is a great game, everything seems to be a success. It just takes them so long inbetween games you don't really think about it.

I have respect for wow being an avid RPG'er, and I've carefully avoided getting sucked into it to keep my sanity (and my girlfriend) There are plenty of places it could improve at, but I think blizzard is paying close attention to them and their next MMORPG is going to be nucking futs.

Nice dude, Planetside was the best. I used to play so much, maybe I'll get into it again this summer for a bit. It's so fun when you get a big outfit together and all galaxy drop on a base somewhere... Commander is on vent and everybody is calling their spots, and the reaver patrol is picking off stragglers outside. Excellent.

I'm still not convinced about WoW though. I think it's a good game for what it is, it's a great first MMO for somebody who doesn't know anything about the genre. I just feel guilty about playing it because it's so simple, linear, easy, and populated by morons.

I've been lookin for a RPG to play since I quit Diablo II: Lord of Destruction..3 people I know play Wow and 2 out of the 3 are addicted. I'm eager to start playing RPGs and MMORPGs again but I wasted a year of life from Diablo so I'm really hesitant to install this.

I played Planetside Beta and first few months after release. Was a great idea (being the first mmofps) that was poorly managed. Took them months to fix the memory leak issues. Nearly everyone and their mother was on Emerald server. Even with all this the game was still fun. What killed it for me was the major change they did changing how u capture bases about 4 months in.

I have played or atleast tried many mmo's. WoW was just not for me. To simple and gets boriing fast. Filled with immature children almost reminds me of playing Halo on Xbox Live. A friend of mine calls WoW MMO for Dummies. Not a bad game but not much to hold someone interested in the long term.

I played WoW off and on, and even bought Burning Crusade. It was pretty fun, but too repetitive, and seemed like they made 4 or 5 quests and just madethe bad guys harder and the quests longer.

That being said, Tabula Rasa looks like it should be pretty fricking cool, so I may very well look into it.
