Lock the PCI-e frequency at 100mhz, and turn AI booster off. If you want a good overclock you have to set things manually. Leave the vcore at 1.325v, that is good up to at least 3.0Ghz. Start raising the FSB up from 266 with steps of 10 and continue until it becomes unstable. Test stability with Orthos or OCCT.

My E6420 is running a 333 FSB (2.66ghz) and is staying very cool and stable. Even after 2 hours on Orthos, it stays right about 40-42c. In my very un-expert opinion, I think these chips have a lot of headroom with a straight FSB change.
