Need a good, inexpensive OCing board

Well. its that time of year again and I'm doing an upgrade! I've decided to go C2D but I know nothing about these boards! I was thinking P965 but should I wait for P35 for the DDR3 support?? I was thinking about buying an e6420 or an e6600(fry's has good eals on stuff like this) and 2GB of DDR2 RAM(not sure about 667 or 800 yet) I've heard the Gigabyte DS3 is a great board but apparently doesnt have a real memory divider like some other boards?? It's either that one or the Abit QuadGT but the price of the QuadGT makes my wallet hurt. Anything like it in comparison or should I just get one of these two?? Also, I only need one PCI-E slot so SLI or CF isn't that big of a deal. Thanks!

well depending on how inexpensive you want to go i will say that the biostar Tforce p965 is a good ocing board at a very reasonable price, you don't really see too many of them around but they are good. but that gigabyte ds3 is a good one too.

best thing i ever bought and can overclock better then some more expensive boards, also has solid capacitors like the more expensive ds3 not s3. these boards have been known to hit 500+fsb

gigabyte s3

ds3 is solid capacitors hence the extra expense...which isn't really worth it imho. you'll easily get the business side of 450FSB

Asus P5B-E o/cs better than the DS3 and its more reliable, ive gone through 3 DS3s due to the cold boot issue which isnt fixed yet, so i gotta say stay away from it

but DONT get the vanilla unless u wanna ghetto rig stuff like i did :-D

lucky, theres an open box oem on newegg right now for $82 pick it up!

here on overclock the ds3 is one of the most favored boards because of the price tp performance ratio, im waiting on my quad GT, hoping its as good as an OC as people say

I think you should pick up the Rev 1.3 965P-DS3 on Newegg.

It's $99.99 with free shipping and it's much better than the Biostar TForce 965P or the 965P-S3.

The regular S3 doesn't have 1333FSB support so there's no benefit to getting it over the Rev 1.3 DS3.

The DS3 has solid caps, very good over-clocking stability and is really just a $130 board at $99.99 because of all the 3.3 hype everyone's into.

If not, I whole-heartedly recommend the Biostar and S3. Very solid boards.
