Upgradeable C2D Build

Thread Starter
Since everyone here loves responding to these threads, and I love reading them, I'm adding another!

Mobo: GA-965P-DS3 (or S3, only $5 more) / DFI INFINITY P965-S Dark
CPU: e4300/e4400 is one better? maybe a e6320, depends on $$
GPU: Sapphire x1950Pro 512MB/ EVGA 7950GT 512MB which overclocks better?
Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231065
2 x 1GB I've heard its really good, and handles OCing well.
If not this, I'd get mushkin.

Noise is irrelevant, because I can't hear it over weapons fire!

I'll be using my old case, soundcard, Ultra 600w PS. I want to be able to upgrade it after I’ve had to overclock it to keep up and thats become out of date, so the evga sell back policy is interesting. I'm retiring my old 2.4 P4/ati 9500 pro/ 2gb ram so I can play company of heroes and bf2/fear and have it look good! I want it to be able to run games at highest/higher levels for about 2 years if not more.

Thanks for all your input y'all

Well, if u wait until July 22, that's when the price of Intel core 2 duo's are going to be cut. The Quad core Q6600 will only be $266, so it's really a steal. Not to mention it'll still fit with all your other stuff

Excellent choice of ram btw!

That G.Skill is perfect. People seem to be in love with that RAM.

As for mobo, go with whichever suits you. I've liked DFI boards, personally, though I've never used them before.

As for vid. cards, aren't evga's known to overclock really well? Not in the market lately. haha. i got some reading to do.

As for the proc, I'd invest about $50 more and get the E6320. Squeeze just a little bit.

Of E4300 and E4400, of course E4400 w/ the higher clock would be better in terms of overclocking starting ground, but E4300 will do just as well with awesome overclock.

I'd still strongly recommend the E6320 for boost of performance and nice overclock.
