Ok I think I'm either gonna go with the x-fi xtreme gamer or the xtreme music (if I can find it). Thanks to all who helped. I'll let you know what my final decision turns out to be.

Also I asked this before, but don't think it got anserwed. If I go with creative would I need to get creative speakers to benifit the most out of my sound card or would any speakers do? What speakers would you suggest?

Any speakers will work just fine.

I suggest Klipsch. Outstanding quality, outstanding sound, and it's from a company that actually got their name making speakers, not mice or keyboards.

I got a logitech speaker atm and like it just fine. I'll look into the one you suggested, but have you heard anything good about their newer speakers? Also is their a certain Klipsch you suggest?

Thanks.

Just don't spend more than $100 on a sound card. It isn't worth it unless you're a complete audiophile that actually plays an instrument and mixes his own songs. Listening to games and movies requires a lot less than people think.

as the kids say around here "creative ftw" i never had a problem with creative... for me there is no other choice. In my living room i run an old sound blaster extigy to a 5.1 reciever via opticle out. I havent shut the soundcard (its external) off in like a year.... never had the first problem. Like i said when you run it to a nice reciever with a powerd sub...well imo it kicks azz. After my klipsch ( old school bash series) 5.1 speakers take a crap on me i will run a 5.1 reciever in my game room and never buy another set of puter speakers again.

And they'll sound better, too.

If you check in the Clearance section of their site, I believe you can still find the 2.1 setup for $89. Outstanding deal on speakers that will rock like you'd never believe.

Ok I just read your post and checked those specific speakers out on their site. I'm reconsidering, but can you give me somemore background on those speakers, if you can?

Thanks
