Samsung 226BW: Anyone using MagicTune? - Page 5

Registered just to reply I just upgraded my old EVGA 8800gts 320mb Superclocked card to a BFGTech 8800gts 512mb OC ('cause the EVGA bit the dust after 16 months and had to be RMA'd). I could NOT get magictune 1.0.56 to work with the new card as I had been doing with the old one. I double-checked Samsung's website and unless I'm just an idiot, 1.0.56 is the version there. I downloaded the updated version from the link in this thread. MagicTune works flawlessly again! Thanks very much, S1rrah, for the link!

Glad you got it working.

It's somewhat of an indispensable app for me as well.

hello everyone...hope the thread is not dead yet..

i am unable to run Magictune v.1.0.99 2008.3.21 on my 17' 723N LCD
Monitor. MagitcTune is reporting an error : 'This system does not
support Magictune..etc'..I have Windows XP SP3 and here are the rest of
my PC specs that MEET the system requirements. I tried rebooting the PC
several times but the problem persisted. All I want is to be able to
change MagicBright settings without the need of pressing the buttons on
the monitor.

Specs:

Motherbrd : ASUSTeK P5K SE Intel P35.
Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6550 @ 2.33GHz.
Graphics : NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 256 MB GDDR3.
Memory : kingmax Semiconductor 2 GB DDR2-SDRAM PC5300 .
Storage : WDC SATA-II 80 GB.

I got the same message off and on for a while. After I upgraded to an 8800GT, I had to install a newer version since the new card was not supported by the older version of magictune.

Are you sure you've downloaded the correct installer?

Download the one called "MagicTune Premium International Download"

At this page:

http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/l..._download.html

...

Be sure and uninstall before installing the new one.

Good luck.

I've had this issue two times.

1. If you boot up your computer with your monitor OFF

2. If you have hybrid SLI enabled in your mobo bios.

I had all the Pretty effects on my 226BW DISABLED.. as they were way to much. I loved that monitor, other than the backlight bleed. haha! I wish I would have kept the Dell 2007FP I had though.

I've done the Magictune calibration, which is great because my monitor's default colours are far too blue (Samsung T260). However whenever I play a game then exit back to the desktop, Magictune "forgets" the profile and everything's looking blue again until I reboot.

I've found I can open Magictune, go into Colours > Calibration, click Multi-user in the top left and select my colour profile again, but it's a bit of a faff. I've tried fiddling manually with gamma levels in the nvidia application but can't get the colours looking right, so calibration seems the only option.

Is there any way to stop it forgetting the colour profile? Thanks for any ideas.
