either way its my 1st built and i had http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145450

then i bought one 512MB stick and it would boot up, i talked to corsair they said that is cause my MB doesn't allow 3sticks only 1,2 or 4. a month or so later i bought the second stick and still, it doesn't boot up
the 2nd and 3rd sticks are http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145420

help me please!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

do I see a Sandy at 3.6GHz

first, running 3 or more double sided sticks on an AMD rig will reduce performance. More so on the older socket 939 steppings than on the newer ones. On older stepping CPUs, the onboard memory controller would reduce RAM performance to DDR 333 speeds when 6 or more banks or memory are installed. Now, 6 banks equals 3 double sided sticks, so this *might* be the problem here.

In this thread is a good read about that issue:
http://www.overclock.net/amd-memory/...lled-2t-e.html

Try with everything stock, and RAM settings at AUTO. If that fails, try only the two new sticks to make sure none of them is faulty. Then, try a mix of one old and one new stick (different combinations) to see if they want to work together (specs are the same, but maybe there is a slight difference in the SPD somewhere that makes this sticks not like each other).

Good luck.

ah, woops! sorry dude, i'm still kinda new to comp tech, i assumed clock speed and MHz were the same
the RAM sticks do work w/ each other, in ANY combination as long as its only two in sockets 0 & 1 if i use 2 & 3 then nope. i've tried manually changing the mem speeds to the loosest timings on the SPD's 2.5-3-3-7 at 166.

the SPD for the RAM

Dual Chann Sticks
200 = 3-3-3-8

Second Purchase
200 = 3-3-3-8
166 = 2-3-3-7

3rd Purchase
200 = 3-3-3-8
166 = 2.5-3-3-7
133 = 2-3-3-6

i think thats right? so should i sell these 4 and buy 2x 1G Sticks?

Clock speed and MHz are the same But AMD was sneaky with their Athlon XP and 64 processors by using a PR (Performance Rating) for the model number. The idea was, that an Athlon 64 3200 was "equivalent or better" than a Pentium 4 3.2GHz, but ran either 2.0 GHz or 2.2GHz.

***EDIT

And yes, 2x1gig sticks will be much less headache for you.
