yes , like the title says i got confirmation about the next update though it is not much i know as of yet

my source? a Sony press employee , and he is never been wrong about updates before

- keep that ethernet plug in your ps3 this week , it's coming

- as of yet it is unclear if it will be called 1.80 or 2.00V

- hold on to your DVD's and BR discs cause upscaling and a 720p fix for the blue disc is coming in the update

- bring out them biiiiig wallpapers for your HDTV cause it's time to redecorate your background

this update is confirmed for my country , although we always get the same shizzle like the UK ( i live a mere 500 miles from London so )

the update may contain much more like XMB access and the date time thingy when you press the PS button and other nifty thingys , but like you may know , Sony people cant spill all the beans , so he hasn't said more then the above
Here : http://community.eu.playstation.com/...ad.php?t=91701

Its rumour from a press representative working for sony...However it seems it may be released this week or very soon...Yay for fixes and added features.

^ That's what I'm waiting for. I can't wait to see movies at 720p.

Sony's good about its firmware. I wouldnt be surprised to see another update real soon.

I just hope they include some sort of networking update that facilitates streaming audio/video like the 360 does....but hopefully better.

Hopefully they can get the built in wireless running faster than a 56k modem.

Mine runs perfectly fast...perhaps you have a weak signal.

Yes I agree Sony has always been good with firmware updates for its products. I cant wait for this one. I wont get the advantage of 720P upscaling as I dont have a HDTV in my room lol....Reallt wish I had one...I just cant afford it lol.

LOL its a wishlist : HDTV for ENTERPRISE

lol.

My speeds are fine with my wireless. Online gaming is smooth. However, when surfing the internet, it is some what slow. But I think thats a problem with the PS3's internet browser, not the connection.

This is nice, cuz I was thinking about buying an upscaling DVD player. Now the PS3 is saving me money.
