How to take a E6600 or 6700 to 4.0Ghz - Page 2

Heh, my 24/7 3.6Ghz overclock is 63c on Orthos load.....and that's acceptable imo...not ideal but safe. I only use 1.42v for 3.6Ghz too.

Load temps are interesting, because 90% of the time during normal usage you'll never reach 100% CPU use.
Nice, I use 1.5v for my 24/7 3.6Ghz... but my load temps are slightly less Around 58-60c if it's particularly warm in my room.

My trouble is the ambient temp that builds up in my room, it would be cooler if the room had more ventilation.

True. I play of a lot of RTCW: ET though, and that game is really hardcore CPU intensive (as much as an older-engine game can be) and it's the only app I have that can heat up Core0 considerably.

I've heard its been done.
You need to remember that it isn't based solely on the equipment you have. Each cpu can get to different speeds and to get to 4 you will need a very good chip from the older weeks.

Yea, I know what you mean...

I insist that both the large windows in my room be left open at all times, so that probably helps. Not looking forward to the coming months though! Need to get that WC loop going asap!

If everyone wants to send me their different processors. A, B, C, D, and E, my system could be the constant and all your processors could be the test subjects.
