Club radeon x800 rx,lines all over the screen, please help

hi,im new here so be gentle
i hope someone can help me please.

i only have a mediocre pc,
amd barton2500,1.5gig ram on an asrock mobo.

ive only got a gf5900 card but bought a 2nd hand club radeon x800 rx off ebay on friday.(its enough for what i need)
it arrived this morning,i cleared out all my old drivers and put the new card..only to see lines all over the screen running top to bottom.

this is happening immediately as soon as the pc is turned on,is it likely the card is on the way out,ive never experienced a problem like this before so dont know what could cause it.

i had a read of the forums and saw the ati tool so had a look,it says the card has 12 pipelines and gpu clock 475,mem clock 450..now im sure when i read a review of the card it was clocked lower than this..do you think its possible its been overclocked and damaged by the previous owner?

the card is the 256bit,256mb version if that helps,it has one dvi output and one vga output as well as tv out,ive only tried it on the vga output,i put my old 5900 card back in and there were no lines so its got to be the card right?

i did one of those memory bios dumps too if that helps..

here are some pictures of what the card is doing

I just think it a dead card and that the guy did try to overclock it before and failed and just sold it to you.

when it arrived this morning it was just inside a jiffy bag wrapped in a piece of bubble wrap,no antistatic bag or anything.

you think it could have got damaged in the post..or static from the plastic?

i dont know enough about the computers to be honest,i can build one but dont really know the technical side when things happen like this.

just looking back at the ebay sale now,its the wording of it that kind of stands out at me now like a sore thumb..

"RADEON X800 RX
You are bidding on a Radeon X800 RX graphics card.

This card is basically an X800 GT but going by a different name (club 3D)

This card is used

The card is not faulty in any way.

It is a great graphics cards for anything

I used this card with games and had no problem with anthing, i even played medieval 2 total war extremely smoothly with no graphics glithes or slowdowns

The card has never been overclocked"

you really need only like 200 volt shock to kill or damage computer parts but the human can only feel 2000 volt shocks so i guess it could have been shock when he touched it or when you touched it because when in that bag it could have slowly build up eletrons in the card itself by rubbing off the plastic and all of it shooting out when it touched you or your mobo.. maybe this happened

or a scamer that why I never buy off Ebay

well i only held it by the steel part where the vga socket is and then pressed it home by the side of the circuit board,i know static can damage parts very easily
so its bin fodder is it?

ive sent the lad an email and see what he says

you can try one more thing (which i hope it works for you).....POSSIBLY it is not seated in all the way. I've had those lines before and i thought my card was done. I just took it out and put it back in and made sure it was in there good. And then everything was (and has been) good.

It's a stretch , but one that doesn't cost you anything
