It's possible - the Toledo's are good cores (better than my Manchester) but you wont know until you get there, it may fail the stress test at 2.9ghz no matter what you do. Dont get your hopes up for 3ghz in case it doesnt make it, and where you have got is a good overclock

should i be worrying about my ram overheating at all? (i didn't bother with dividers or anything like that)

i got no heatsinks or cooling on the ram other than maybe the 120mm hitting them

Not unless you're putting something like 3.0V+ into them, I'd say no.

If you've got air traveling around that part of the motherboard, that would be sufficient.
