P4 3.4 Vs Pentium D 3.0 - Page 2

Pentium D's also overclock better.Unless the p4 is a 641 they also overclock well.I remember seeing a comparison of a overclocked pentium d benching against a stock 6300.The results were very close.

the the 820, 830, and 840 dont oc well at all, the 920, 930, 935, 940 all OC well though

I disagree. My 820 does 3.5GHz stable and 3.6 benchable on the stock cooler. I think that I could hit 4.0 if I had better cooling.

With good cooling and motherboard 9xx can easily go as high as 4.5.My old 930 ran 4.3 24/7 could bench at 4.8.

you just need pick one and put it into your system.
I would say Pentium D.
