Please help with my new 2408wfp

Hi guys.
Just bought this bad boy today and i have to say i'm pretty impressive.
No dead pixels or anything, but i got a weird feeling ( maybe because i am so used to my old sammy 913n) that this monitor has not been optimised for performance.
what i mean is sometimes i think the screen is a bit too bright and sometimes picture or movie quality isn't as good as i'd expect (since it's ultra sharp). but i'm not sure if my feels serve me right.
Please if anyone can suggest me of way to test the monitor or find out if it's doing its job properly .
Much appreciated!!!
