clear the cmos, its a jumper setting. if that doesnt work u can also remove the battery for a while.

it sounds like u were pushing ddr800 to ddr1200 (400 to 600 jump). unless u decided to bump up the voltages to some unholy number, i doubt that just upping the ram speed would kill ram.

But this is why I'm pissed at G-Skill. I spent 300 dollard for 2 gigs of memory. For almost a year it worked. I went into CPUz the other day though and noticed it only registered at 300 with timings of 5-6-6-18. That is pathetic! I went into the bios to jump it up to what it should be and it just fried it I guess.

I dont know whar I did wrong this is so annoying, almost every single PC part i've had lately has not done anything like it was supposed to.
did the guy check stock voltages on your board? Mine didnt post cause the bios got reset in a storm and i had to pull out one stick and reset the voltages.

blue fire is probably right, when i had my p5b-d i had to allways pull one stick of my gskill ram to get it to boot with the stock bios volts of 1.8, the first thing i would do is go in and change the volts to 2.1 and then put in the other stick of ram
give it a shot i bet your ram is fine

im pretty sure by 300 it was 600, and it was there because your CPU was not overclocked a lot. so pushing it to what you say is 915....do you mean 1830?!?!?!

just like everyone said. get ddr2 - 800 u get room to overclock. 533 is only for stock..

and dont' listen to guys at the local store. once i was at best buy and i was looking at cables, because i had a urgent need to get one, usually i get them cheap online, but anywayz. i was looking at cables and a sales guy was trying to sell a customer a video card, and the customer wanted to know if he could play a games on it, then and the guy said yes, the card has 2 pipelines and runs at like 425, has 128 and it works in pci, then the consumer was saying isn't agp better and why can't i get 256? i have an agp 8x slot, and the guy tells him no, agp can't compete with pci, pci is better, and faster, this card will bring you more performance and 256 mb is a waste of money, 128 mb of memory doesn't help you that much when gaming. me trying to help the buyer not to get shafted said no first of the all the card runs at 475 mhz , and agp 8x will run circles around pci, it has 4 pipelines and the 256 card will get you better performance.

anywayz the best buy guy started arguing with me, then i told him to look on the box, and it said 475 mhz. then he said i'll be right back, and he never came back

ROFL. Never trust the guys in the stores. They usually know jack squat. My mother went in the Best Buy once with a printed out product description of an AGP card and asked if they had it. He said "yes" and when he came back it was the PCI-E version. My mom brought it home and I looked at the Box and then at the sheet and.... hmm... wow. She went back, and I told her to tell the guy what an idiot he is. Too bad it ended up being someone else. Morons.
