XP to Vista

Thread Starter
I'm about to upgrade from XP 32bit to Vista 64bit, RAID 0. Will I need to update my RAID drivers and will my information be lost while upgrading?

I did not have to update my raid drivers - I however did lose all my data as I did a clean install.

When I try to upgrade it says I need to update my SCSI and RAID controller. Do I need to do a clean install to do this, or can I possibly update beforehand?

I'm not 100% sure that you actually can go from 32-bit to 64-bit with a upgrade.. Maybe you can.. seems like a bad idea but who knows O.o

Anyway your going to have to get a floppy and get your raid drivers for vista loaded on it, and then load them while upgrading.

So a clean install is the best way to go?

You have to do a clean install when going from 32-bit to 64-bit. Also, I think you can use a USB drive to load the RAID drivers instead of a floppy.

I'd recommend a clean install, but your still going to need vista 64-bit raid drivers.
