Vista Home Basic

Thread Starter
I know that Home Basic is extremely underfeatured...but it has lower system requirements.

Is Home Basic less of a system hog than the others? The main reason I'm getting Vista is for DX10...and Home Basic still has that.

I don't think so, From the reviews I've read, I can't find anything that indicates any single version of Vista being more of a resource hog than any other version. All the write-ups indicate Vista needs more resources than XP, but I can't find anything comparing Home to Premium to Ultimate to whatever versions.

Edit: nice case! nice system!

It probably has lower requirements because it does not have the Aero theme. Its just a basic blue i believe. If you have another version you can just turn Aero off. I would get at least Home Premium.
