The only reason I really use XP for gaming at all is because Final Fantasy XI especially runs like poop on Vista... and I used to play that game a LOT (addicted much?)

I'll give credit where due, other than that game every other one runs fine on Vista... but I just find performance a tad better in XP.

Vista isn't "off" at all. It works great. I'd take Vista over XP any day of the week. And I'm running the 64bit version to boot.

Vista has actually hit a pretty stable running now, I'm more than happy with it once I killed the UAC.

Give it a go, you will definatley appreciate its amazingness.

If your really nervous as i was that i wouldnt beable to find drivers and such, do a dual boot. But note that i had both installed on my laptop and every driver was installed on first boot (save the 56k modem) so i had NO reason to EVER boot into XP again.. and after around 5 months with them dual booting i reformated the XP partition for more space since i NEVER booted into it anymore.

With my desktop i have it dual booted as well, and i boot into XP to play C0D2 cause it plays funky in Vista.

Do a dual boot at start incase you use some program you have to have that doesnt work in vista for somereason, just to be safe until you get situated.

And dont listen to people who say "wait for the service pack cause vista is all over the place" because they probably havent used it at home, or are retarded and cant adjust to a new GUI.
