Maybe I have it plugged into the wrong slot on the motherboard or something? I also went and set all my settings back to exactly what you recommended earlier. And orthos stops after 5 minutes...temps run just above 60 on load and at 48 still without the load.
To be honest with you, it's not really a great heatsink, I would suggest a better one. Until that time, you need to lower your overclock because you don't want it to go over 60c (or find a stable lower vcore).

Figures...I had to buy the sucky fan thinking it would be good. Ok...noise not being a factor for me what fan would you recommend? Im not sure I feel comfortable doing liquid cooling yet.

If you want to keep it cheap, go with the Arctic Freezer 7 Pro (I'm using it now with 50c load temp @ 3.2Ghz). If you want a really good one, the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme is great. If you choose that heatsink you still have to pick a 120mm fan to go with it, because it ships without fan.

To be short and specific on this: No.

If you want something between the Arctic Freezer 7 Pro and Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme, go with the Scythe Infinity or Noctua NH-U12F.

If you have that many cash to spend, the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme gives about the same temps as a cheap watercooling system.

I put one of these on the E6300 build I did for my mom, and I couldn't get it over 50c at 2.66ghz. They are huge, but they move huge air.

You do have the fan on the the Zalman plugged in right?

If you do, you must have it plugged into the wrong port or the BIOS wouldn't give the CPU fan error. With the temps you are reporting it sounds like the fan isn't on, either that or you have a bad mount.

For OC settings, try these:
FSB 400
CPU Multiplier 8
NB 1.55v
vcore 1.46v
FSB term 1.4v
SB 1.6v
VDIMM 2.2v
RAM timings 4-4-4-12-5-35-5-3-7-11 ( You ABSOLUTELY have to set the RAM subtimings on a P5B or it will be unstable way before it actually should be, the default 40-10-10-10-10 is crap)
RAM Speed - set to 1:1

With that FSB and vcore you should idle aroun 38C, if your Zalman is properly mounted AND has the correct amount of thermal paste

Where did you get those subtimings from? I've been looking for a good set of subtimings for a while. Are those subtimings only suitable for 800mhz or doesn't it matter?

Oh and a little sidemark, 1.46v seems a lot for 3.2Ghz, I'm using 1.3v. Anything over 1.4v gives mad temps for me (hot room).
