If it's a nice price drop, I'll probably buy a Q6600 even if I don't use it in my main system for a while. I'd be tempted to buy one now really, but I may as well wait and see what the price is like in a few months.

Would be nice to have a dedicated folding machine.

Personally, I limit myself to one CPU upgrade per year (give or take a couple months for particularly low or high prices). By the time I am considering upgrading my C2d it will be next spring, and the Penryns should be only marginally insane. I expect I'll buy the first penryn to come in under $400. I'll only go for the q6600 if I melt my E6600.
