2 Questions....

Thread Starter
Hey guys.

i now have a ABIT FATAL1TY FP-IN9 SLII in my posession. Will be putting it in my pc this friday. i get the feeling that nobody likes this board but i want to give it a test, it didnt break my bank as its only £65 so i thought it was a reasonable test purchase, basically i have two questions and in know you guys always come up trumps when i need the help.

So here it goes...

1. I have heard that this board will either overclock very well for some people and not for others, i have a stable 3 GHZ at the moment on my board and want to know if this is achievable on the Fatal1ty?? i would be quite content with 2.8Ghz. (Im using a C2D E6320) ive also heard that you must add more voltage to the northbridge if increasing the fsb to make it stable? is this correct and how much voltage do you recommend per Mhz on the FSB??? Also have any of u guys had any problems overclocking? if so how did you resolve them. Or have any of you got any good results??

2. This board has the 650 SLI chipset which i think was pretty great for the price, however, i have a BFG8800GTXOC and would like to add a second in SLI for that extra gaming edge, however the majority of people say dont even bother unless you have some incredible resolution (like on the Dell 30" monitor) for example, i basically want to understand how this works and how it still wont benefit me when im using a 1050 x 1600 resolution??

Anyways sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance for your replies

Lauvan

Some reach that speed with that processor and board, and some don't. It's hit-or-miss.

well, it's a good board, but is kinda picky when you go to OC. for OC, you should go with 680i. i wish i did! but like i said, it is a very good rock solid board, just don't go too far with OC. i'm havin trouble gettin stable over 3GHz
