Sli performance problems

Thread Starter
Just got my second 6800gt and now running in sli. However, performance has actually decreased, now running at around 15-60ish fps (css) vice the 70-150 i had with a singular card. My drivers are updated so there shouldnt be an issue with old drivers holding the card back.
My system:
FX -57
dual 6800gt
2gig kit ocz
dfi lan party
vio 550watt

At first i thought my psu was perhaps not powerful enough, but looking at other systems, and the fact that 6800gt's are not part of the modern line of power hogs, im not really sure anymore. Any suggestions before i trash these cards and go Ati?

*fyi- i do understand that 6800gt's wouldnt give me surpreme power anyway, but its more upon the fact that performance decreased with the upgrade

Did you enable SLI?

Sounds simple, but many overlook that.

delete your drivers, then use driver cleaner. proceed to reinstall both cards into their slots and attach the bridge then install drivers, enable gpu load balancing.

Found the problem...apparently when i initially installed the cards, it reset my motherboard thus reseting my overclock. The lack of overclock was the thing that gave me low performance. Such a random solution, but hey, it works.
Thanks for the help ^_^
